At the launch of the “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010,” it was
the parents, relatives and close friends of the housemates who truly
experienced what that night’s episode title meant – “Let the Clash
Begin.”
They grappled with mixed emotions colliding inside them as they felt worried and sad that their teens will be gone for quite some time to live inside the PBB house.
“I’m worried for Yong because there will be no one to remind him anymore of the things that he needs to do while inside the Big Brother House. Unlike when we were here for him, we could constantly remind him,” Joel Salvador, guardian of Yong Gopez, said in Filipino.
However, their apprehensions were overcome by their pride and happiness for the teen housemates. They knew that it was the dream of their wards to get inside the house as it was for over 15,000 other applicants. Salvador said they experienced twice the joy since their teens are among the lucky 16 to make it as housemates.
“Of course, I am very happy for Joe because it’s really his dream to make it inside the Big Brother’s house. It was his first time to audition and he made it,” Mommy Carol Vargas, mother of Joe said.
Not all of the parents and relatives gave material keepsakes for their teens; although some mentioned giving personal stuff like a comb, some of grandma’s accessories, and a family picture. Other housemates, like Joe, refused to bring any memento that for him, according to his mother, could only aggravate the loneliness.
Nonetheless, parents and relatives were able to send their “bilins.” All of them spoke of the same wants. They asked their teens to behave while inside the house, to always obey whatever Big Brother says, and to establish a harmonious relationship among their fellow housemates by cooperating and always being true to them.
Lastly, they reminded them to be strong and never lose their faith because this “PBB” Teen Edition will surely be tough, a “clash” it is dubbed.
